A New Beginning / Novel Translation
Been a while, isn’t it? This will be my first novel translation attempt. If you had been following my manga translations for the past few years, I thank you for reading the stuff I’d translated so far. While I’d love to continue to complete the various manga I was translating, I realised it’s pretty impossible now (I would still like to finish Kaze no Tsuyoku Fuiteiru though…sigh) because of long working hours, and my hand that I’d been complaining for the past few years–just couldn’t handle holding a mouse for a long period of time (even when I’m already using an ergonomic mouse). I’m barely surviving with kinesio taping on top of all the ergonomic changes I can think of to my home and office desk environment. Typing is the bare minimal I can do without hurting, so I can only translate (wry smile).
I don’t know what I’m going to translate in the future, but right now I’m pretty into villainess and office romance for some reason (laugh). As usual, I always love hard to translate stuff, but the Japanese novel scene seems to be filled with isekai–I read some isekai too, not totally against it, but those that aren’t already translated by either fan translation or official are mostly mediocre or otome/engagement abandonment/villainess. The worst thing is most are mediocre AND long (yup, not my thing…I’d struggle to maintain an interest), I like great world building stuff and even stuff with difficult technical knowledge to translate. I’m still looking for something to tick my box—good writing and not too long, challenging content to translate (ah, I’m a sadomasochist). It’s also pretty hard when I don’t like harem/reverse, stupid overpowered stuff….. (unless the writing is really, really, really good). Good mystery or niche slice of life are nice too..like sports, medical, detective, etc…
But for now, let’s start with a short and slightly dark story (despite the title!). The basic premise is engagement abandonment (laugh) but it’s a light premise. It’s the story between a very flawed hero and a heroine that was forced to bear the burden of her blood. I like the ending (laugh in twisted mode) so that’s why I’m translating this. The title of this novel is:
“I bought the Crown Prince because he was being sold at the slave market “
Finally, translating novel made me realised how awful my grammar still is. I tried my best to look for an editor, but it’s not easy. I found one, but my editor is new to this as well, so if you’re unhappy with the weird grammar, proses, etc…Well, we’ve tried our best. Please leave feedback so both of us can improve. As always, I translate mainly to satisfy my own ego and build my own translating skill, so I don’t really care if nobody actually read for the sake of reading—what is reading without feedback. However, I understood that there are readers out there, so I tried my best to make it an enjoyment for you.
The novel will be in png format and will be post just like as if it’s a manga on the reader side. I want to keep the navigation easy and seamless. To add a new reading system with a TOC on this part of the blog is time consuming-time I don’t have. I’m not good with web maintenance in the first place.
P/S: This story will be updated weekly.
