I bought a Crown Prince… Ch.02
This chapter is a continuation of the previous chapter. For this novel, I have completed the translation for the whole first part (17 chapters) though the editing hasn’t catched up. But even if it does, this would still be on a weekly schedule. When I completed the first part, I started to translate another novel, and to be honest, my progress on that is dragging along. I’m really stuck at chapter 5 for the few weeks, there’s a frustrating paragraph that, no matter how I phrased it in English, I feel it’s awkward and there was just no way to convey it properly in English. I’m simply not satisfied with it and I can’t move on…Ahh, I really want to release that one too, but I need to do more chapters before I could.
From time to time, I get request from people asking me to give out raws of manga I had translated so that they can ‘read’ it. Look, if you can read the raw text, please go buy a copy yourself. Since I mostly translate from digital manga, it means it’s available digitally to you as well. Buying digitally save you heaps of shipping fees (most of the time shipping fee is more than the actual price anyway) thus, you’re only paying a few dollars for a copy.
I know its ironic and hypocritical for me to tell you to go out and buy a copy when I’m translating without permission. But what you’re reading here are my translations. If I give you only the raws, thats pure piracy. It doesn’t mean what I did was correct, but in a way, I don’t want to be the pure bottom feeder or an enabler. In a way, fan translations do help spread awareness, especially in my case, where I did a lot of lesser known manga. Well, now that people are aware of these manga, please go buy a copy, especially if you are the kind that can ‘read’ the raws, there’s really no excuse not to. It’s cheaper than a kpop cd, it’s cheaper than a meal at mcdonald’s or equiv to the cheapest meal, etc… it won’t really kill you to eat one meal lesser if you’re really dying to read it… unless you really need food more, then, set your priorities straight.
I’ve shortlisted a few novels to pickup, but not really sure which one to go for first. Anything interesting? You can suggest.
See you next weekend.
