Release #20 2020
Bowing #1
It’s been a while, how have y’all been? I’m not doing very well. It’s the same old complain about my hand, except this time, when I didn’t think it could get anymore painful than before, it exceeded my expectations. I can barely use my right hand for more than 5 mins without it hurting so much, experiencing loads of sharp jabbing pains from my shoulder right down to my fingers.
What I’m about to release here is something that we have been working on since end of last year. Everything just kinda took a while with this, the redraws, the PR (that ended up with no PR even though I gave it to Pr), the typeset also took very long, and then the QC, which is my responsibility also took hella long. Three weeks? A month? I lost track. It’s the longest time I ever QC-ed something. Not only was there insane loads to fix for the typeset, but also thanks to my hand acting up, (im swallowing painkillers everyday for the past 3 weeks to try to manage it since it was no longer bearable) i can barely fix 1 page a day. Sometimes, I took 2 days for a page. I’ll do one bubble, fiddle for a few minutes to look at it, and then my hand will hurt and i will just not do it anymore for that day. Sigh.

Ahhh, I will always remember this. What an ardous journey towards release. But anyway, this is finally done. Thanks to Velo for the handwritten sfx in this chapter because I have no grip strength and everything I did just look like it’s handwriting out of some horror manga cause of it-not to mention Velo’s handwriting is nicer than mine. But then, I also put her through many rewrites cause I am just that fussy, good that she is same, LOL… so we both worked hard to make sure it satisfy both our standards.

Just look at the example I did to show Velo what I want… LOL
I made her redo this page, i lost count… 6-7x? hahahaha
Both of us were recently asked by someone about why we scanlate and why do we care so much about the quality of the releases? Is it to fight head on with the officials?
I never care for that. I also very specifically wrote in the FAQ of this site that you all should DEFINITELY NOT treat my releases as official translations. For those that know what MBTI is, I’m a ISTJ-T and I also have OCPD (not same as OCD), so I’m very relentless on myself when it comes to what I want to satisfy myself.
Whatever perceived quality you get from my scanlations are simply a matter of meeting my own personal standard.
Back to the topic, this was picked up when I was in some renewed feverish violin fanatic phase after watching too many Twosets videos. I always loved violin and I also enjoy listening to classical music (it’s really true, its not all KPOP hehe) I love the madness and intricacies of Paganini but my absolute favourite composer is Camille Saint-Saëns and my all time violinist is Itzhak Perlman (with special shoutout to Heifetz and Menuhin). I was already planning to translate one of Kyukkyupon’s manga set during the China Revolutionary period, but this came along and I was absolutely, OMG, i need to do this so i can nerd out translating musical terms and pieces. hahahahaha
So, since there was no proper Pr, Velo just checked my grammar, I apologised for any part that doesn’t flow very well… It’s a very long chapter, I’m frankly not 100% satisfied with it, but i have went through so many alterations, my brain is worn out.
If you feel this is very similar to Piano no Mori, yeah, you aren’t the only one, I thought so too. 😛 Anyway, enjoy
Thank you for reading this post until the end, if you can spare a few minutes, please listen once to this video without fast forwarding or pausing. The message of this song is amazing if you are curious about it, you can check the English translation of the lyrics HERE. Please give my boys a listen, it’s not your typical kpop song. 100/10 satisfaction guaranteed. Stan Pentagon <3

Also, since its a release post of a manga talking about violin, ochestra and classical music, I must end it with a classical piece. This is “Danse Macabre” by Saint-Saëns.
